Privacy Policy

Last updated 5 November 2026

This policy explains what Rivie collects, why, and who it is shared with. Rivie is run by an individual based in India, who is responsible for your data. For anything about your data, including complaints, write to help@rivie.org.

What we collect

  • Your account: your email address, name and password (our sign-in provider stores it hashed, so no one can read it). If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address from Google.
  • Your study profile: your grade, target score, test date, study days, focus section and whether you test with extra time.
  • Your practice: your answers, time spent on each question, practice tests, scores, reports, saved questions and vocab progress.
  • Payments: Dodo Payments handles checkout. We receive your email, the plan, amount, currency and payment reference. We never receive your card number.
  • Technical data: your IP address and approximate country, which we use to show prices in your currency and to stop abuse, and cookies that keep you signed in.
  • Visits: our own analytics tool records each page you visit, the site you came from, your browser and screen size, and your approximate location (city) worked out from your IP address. It uses no cookies. When you are signed in, it links these visits to your account.
  • Messages: anything you send us by email.

How we use it

We use your data to run Rivie: to score your tests, build your study plan, show your progress, manage Pro, answer your messages and keep the service secure. We look at combined, anonymous usage to improve Rivie. We don’t show ads, we don’t sell your data, and we don’t share it for advertising.

Who we share it with

Only the services that run Rivie for us, and only what each one needs:

  • Supabase: our database and sign-in.
  • Vercel: hosts the website.
  • Cloudflare: runs our analytics tool, which receives your IP address with each visit.
  • Upstash: limits how often requests can be made, using your account ID.
  • Dodo Payments: our merchant of record, which processes payments and taxes.
  • Google: only if you choose to sign in with Google.
  • YouTube: lesson videos play in YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode, so YouTube only receives data about you once you press play.
  • Desmos: provides the calculator in math practice tests and receives your IP address when it loads.

We may also disclose data if the law requires it. These services may store and process data in countries other than your own.

How long we keep it

We keep your data while your account is open. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete your data within 30 days, except payment records that tax law requires us to keep.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your data, or withdraw your consent, by writing to help@rivie.org from your account’s email address. We reply within 30 days. If you are not happy with our answer, you can complain to the data protection authority where you live.

Children

Rivie is not for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If we learn we have, we delete it. Students aged 13 to 17 need a parent or guardian’s permission to use Rivie.

Cookies

Rivie uses only the cookies needed to keep you signed in. We don’t use advertising cookies, and our analytics uses no cookies at all. YouTube may set its own cookies when you play a video, and Dodo Payments may set its own on its checkout page.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters to you, we will say so on the site or by email before the change takes effect. See also our terms of service.
